Description

The Superintendent Projects and Newbuild oversees the new construction and conversion of ships and coordinates projects in the fields of research, improvements, and new construction. The position provides expertise in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering and ensures that completed projects meet contractual conditions, specifications, agreements, and technical standards.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or Maritime Officer.
  • Experience as a marine engineer or maritime officer is highly desirable.
  • Shore-based experience at a shipyard, design firm, or classification society is a plus.
  • Good command of Dutch; English and German are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (internationally) and stay abroad for extended periods.
  • Decisive, stress-resistant, able to work well with others, and a solution-oriented attitude.

Tasks

  • Supervising new construction and renovation projects to ensure delivery meets specifications, tender documents, and agreements with the shipyard and suppliers within the schedule.
  • Coordinating and executing projects in the fields of research, improvements, and new construction.
  • Providing technical expertise in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering to meet customer requirements, laws and regulations, and current technical standards.
