Design Engineer Offshore
Junior Design & Proposal Engineer responsible for design, technical specifications, cost calculations, and quotations for marine electrical systems.
Higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level and a good command of Dutch and English are required.
Works on various projects within the dynamic maritime sector.
Description
Junior Design & Proposal Engineer within the Marine & Offshore Business Unit, responsible for the quotation process for electrical installations and systems for ships. You will be part of the Design & Proposal team that provides support for various projects in the maritime sector.
Job requirements
- HBO working and thinking level.
- Experience in electrical engineering or a background in electrical engineering is an advantage.
- Experience with the energy transition is an advantage.
- Experience with systems in the maritime sector is an advantage.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
Tasks
- Investigating customer needs and gathering necessary information for applications.
- Converting customer requirements into a design and drafting technical descriptions of parts.
- Calculating costs and preparing quotations, taking into account system functionality and sustainability.
- Providing technical support to the sales team during commercial negotiations.
- In consultation with the Design & Proposal Manager, determine strategy to submit a timely and technically accurate offer.
- Ensure data transfer to the project team as soon as an order is confirmed.
- Maintaining contact with internal and external suppliers and with customers.
- Learning to work with existing tools to eventually perform tasks independently.
