Description

As Financial Controller you are at the heart of the organization, focusing on finance and accounting to ensure reliable figures, smooth processes and management information. You report to the Manager Finance & ICT and work within a compact Finance & ICT team in an international, technical environment with growth ambitions. The role includes a limited mandatory interface with sustainability and risk, and offers room to grow.

Job requirements

  • Completed higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar.
  • Approximately five years of relevant experience (for example as financial controller or in accountancy/audit practice).
  • Good oral and written command of Dutch and English.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Analytical, critical and strong communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with sustainability/ESG reporting is a plus but not required.

Tasks

  • Ensure reliable figures, smooth-running processes, and analyzes that management can rely on.
  • Perform and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including balance sheet specifications, journal entries and financial analyses.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses.
  • Process and verify general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, and interim accounts.
  • Process and verify intercompany transactions and reconciliations between entities.
  • Assist with cost calculations, project administration, and progress reporting.
  • Prepare VAT returns and contribute to other tax reports.
  • Monitor internal control measures, compliance, and risk management.
  • Act as first point of contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
  • Identify deviations, risks, and areas for improvement within financial processes and actively contribute to process improvements, standardization, and further professionalization of the financial organization.
  • Provide functional guidance to the accounting team, act as sparring partner to the Manager Finance & ICT, and serve as connecting link between the team, management and external parties.
  • Contribute to sustainability/ESG reporting activities as required.
