As a Policy Advisor for Environment and External Safety, you develop policy and advise management and the board.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and extensive experience as a policy officer or advisor in this field.
You work in the Spatial and Economic Development policy team within the municipal organization.
Description
You play a key role in developing and realizing ambitions regarding the environment and external safety within the municipality. You are an experienced and knowledgeable discussion partner for colleagues, management, and the Board, and you make a significant substantive contribution to the department based on your expertise.
Job requirements
- Minimum completed higher professional education (HBO) degree, preferably with an environmental (technical) background or a managerial field.
- Extensive experience as a policy officer or advisor within the policy field of environment and external safety.
- Broad vision on environment and external safety and up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills, combined with a practical approach.
- Proactive, solution-oriented attitude and a focus on possibilities.
- Being confident and able to reflect clearly on your own actions.
Tasks
- Act as a subject matter expert in the field of environment and external safety.
- Developing policy and translating ambitions into feasible plans.
- Ensuring the coherence and progress of environmental policy and projects.
- Addressing themes such as external safety, air quality, noise, circularity, and water quality.
- Involving colleagues in substantive choices and maintaining an overview.
- Translating national and regional developments into concrete municipal initiatives.
- Monitoring technological and policy developments and translating these into feasible and widely supported policy.
- Acting as a substantive sparring partner for environmental aspects in spatial developments.
- Advising the board and management and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to related themes such as sustainable mobility, the circular economy, climate adaptation, and the sustainability of social and municipal real estate.
Working conditions
You will be given the opportunity to develop your professional skills and advance, with good secondary employment conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Municipalities.
- 28 vacation days for full-time employment, possibility to work extra hours to accrue more leave and purchase additional vacation days.
- Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,05% of your salary, to be used at your own discretion and also for extra leave hours.
- Permanent contract after one year upon mutual satisfaction.
- Travel allowance of €0,25 per kilometer, maximum for a commuting distance of 60 kilometers; freedom of choice of mode of transport.
- Participation in the ABP choice pension fund.
- Periodic team and organizational activities, including two larger joint celebrations per year.
Description of the organization
You will be appointed within the Spatial and Economic Development policy team, part of the Physical Living Environment and Economy Cluster. Within the team, colleagues collaborate on policy development in areas such as spatial and area development, heritage, soil, ecology, economy, leisure economy, and art and culture.
