Description
As an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you guide the asset management of electrical installations within Storage and Terminals. You monitor and optimize the balance between safety, availability, environmental impact, and costs, and develop technical policies to control degradation so that reliability and safety are ensured over the lifespan of assets. You work from the office in Groningen; hybrid working is possible.
Job requirements
- Completed higher professional education in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or similar.
- At least five years of demonstrable work experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
- Good command of the Dutch or English language, spoken and written.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Analytical and results-oriented; takes initiative and addresses bottlenecks proactively and solution-oriented.
- Ability to see through complex issues and organize work in a goal-oriented manner within an organization with diverse interests.
Tasks
- Providing in-depth technical expertise within projects, involved from an early stage in the development, expansion, and modification of existing and new assets, such as LNG terminals and facilities for underground storage of natural gas and hydrogen, and hydrogen and ammonia terminals.
- Conducting feasibility studies, scope definitions, and concept selections, and translating them into robust, safe, and future-proof technical solutions.
- Documenting technical principles, design parameters, and boundary conditions in line with laws and regulations, applicable norms, and relevant technical standards.
- Developing and assessing functional designs (FD), basic designs (FD), and detailed designs (FD), and testing for safety, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle costs.
- Managing and evaluating external engineering parties and testing designs and deliverables for quality and compliance with standards.
- Coordinating test, inspection, and commissioning plans and arranging maintenance for the operational phase.
- Managing and further developing technical standards and disseminating them organization-wide within the expertise hub.
- Advising on technical and operational issues, acting as a knowledge holder, and contributing to uniform, safe, and efficient technical solutions.

The department leads technical improvement processes and prepares the business line for new projects and technologies.
