Description

You play a key role in ensuring safety and compliance at an energy terminal. You ensure that HSEQ is a visible and integral part of the organization and that the 'License to Operate' remains secured. You act as an advisor and sparring partner in the field of health, safety, and environment.

Job requirements

  • Completed higher professional education (HBO) degree, for example in Integrated Safety Science or Environmental Science, supplemented with HVK (Higher Safety Science).
  • At least five years of work experience in a complex process environment (such as oil & gas, chemicals, or LNG).
  • In-depth knowledge of SEVESO/Brzo, ATEX (137/153) and relevant NEN standards.
  • Experience with incident reporting systems and safety software is a plus.
  • Steadfast and analytical professional with ownership, persuasiveness, and the ability to translate frameworks into practical solutions.

Tasks

  • Monitoring safety and compliance within the processes at the terminal and contributing to operational integrity.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and relevant guidelines such as SEVESO; preparing for and conducting external inspections.
  • Managing and updating permits, including environmental permits and the Explosive Safety Document (EVD).
  • Organizing and supervising process safety analyses, such as HAZOP, LOPA, and Bow-tie; supervising ATEX inspections and following up on findings.
  • Advising on technical changes (Management of Change) and monitoring process safety.
  • Guiding incident investigations using the Fact Tree method and preparing periodic HSE reports and KPIs for management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinating the internal audit program in the field of safety, health, and environment.
  • Acting as a point of contact for employees and contractors, developing and conducting training and toolbox meetings, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

You work for the EemsEnergyTerminal as part of the Occupational Safety Team of the Safety Unit, a diverse and collegial national team of approximately 25 safety professionals, in close collaboration with process safety and inspection teams.
