Description

Do you have a passion for science and a keen eye for opportunities with endowment funds and foundations? In this role, you will work at the Ubbo Emmius Fund (UEF), an independent foundation supporting the university, and translate complex scientific projects into compelling funding proposals.

Job requirements

  • Completed university education or demonstrably equivalent work and intellectual level.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Demonstrable experience with fundraising from endowment funds and foundations, and with generating income from these target groups.
  • Experience with CRM systems for relationship management.
  • Good writing skills for drafting project proposals and reports.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills; you move easily among entrepreneurs, scientists, executives, and philanthropists.
  • A strong network with endowment funds and foundations is a plus.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Affinity with academic education and research and with the societal role of the university.
  • Personal qualities: pleasant and reliable team player, result-oriented, proactive, enterprising, creative and flexible.

Tasks

  • Soliciting and approaching endowment funds and foundations that align with the fund's objectives.
  • Building, maintaining, and expanding relationships with existing and new funds, aimed at long-term partnerships.

  • Managing named funds, including monitoring the application process and project progress.

You will be working in the Alumni Relations and Fundraising department, a close-knit team of about ten colleagues within the Corporate & International Affairs staff department. The team collaborates extensively with Communications and International Relations regarding events, social media, and relationship management (CRM) to strengthen alumni and philanthropic relationships and raise funds.

The Ubbo Emmius Fund (UEF) is an independent foundation supporting the university and serves as a springboard for scientific talent, research, and education.
