Description
As a Junior Backend Developer in the Trading & Market Integration team, you will work on the core of our operational platform: systems and algorithms that determine how and when energy systems are controlled and deployed on energy markets. You will build scalable backend solutions that support real-time decision-making based on market prices, grid conditions, and asset behavior. You will receive good guidance and plenty of room to learn.
Job requirements
- HBO or university degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with Python and interest in backend development.
- Affinity with data, algorithms, or (near) real-time applications.
- Proficiency in the Dutch and/or English language.
- Eager to learn, proactive, and collaborative attitude.
Pros:
- Experience with developing production-ready software (services, data pipelines, or integrations).
- Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Interest in or experience with energy markets, trading, or optimization issues.
Tasks
- Building and learning to build scalable backend solutions to support real-time decision-making.
- Contribute to integrations with external marketplaces, grid operators, and trading platforms.
- Developing and maintaining systems for controlling energy assets (e.g., batteries and solar parks) together with Data Scientists.
- Being involved in the entire software development chain, from design to implementation.
- Ensuring the performance and reliability of systems that influence operational results.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and sprint reviews.
Working conditions
