You will receive good guidance and plenty of room to learn.

  • Affinity with data, algorithms, or (near) real-time applications.
  • Proficiency in the Dutch and/or English language.
  • Eager to learn, proactive, and collaborative attitude.

Pros:

  • Experience with developing production-ready software (services, data pipelines, or integrations).
  • Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Interest in or experience with energy markets, trading, or optimization issues.

Tasks

  • Building and learning to build scalable backend solutions to support real-time decision-making.
  • Contribute to integrations with external marketplaces, grid operators, and trading platforms.
  • Developing and maintaining systems for controlling energy assets (e.g., batteries and solar parks) together with Data Scientists.
  • Being involved in the entire software development chain, from design to implementation.
  • Ensuring the performance and reliability of systems that influence operational results.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and sprint reviews.

Working conditions

  • Personal budget of 12% on top of your salary (8% holiday allowance and 4% for personal purposes), available for extra vacation days, pension contributions, or tax benefits such as a gym membership.
  • 26 days of leave with a full-time employment contract plus 2 additional collective days off.
  • Pension plan in which the employer pays 2/3 of the premium.
  • Space for professional and personal growth with courses and further training.
  • NS Business Card for commuting and business travel.
  • Flexible and hybrid working, with modern offices or from home and a work-from-home budget of €400.
  • Offices in Groningen and Amsterdam; at least 2 days per week in Groningen during the first two months for the onboarding period.
  • After the onboarding period, attendance at the bi-weekly sprint kick-off in Groningen is desired; otherwise, a great deal of flexibility in consultation.
