You work on issues within the energy transition, from abstract studies to concrete realization, and take responsibility for both content and results.
The organization has grown and is seeking a senior consultant who executes projects and actively contributes to the further professionalization and development of working methods.
Job requirements
- HBO/WO working and thinking level.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and/or sustainability & energy.
- Ability to assess complex issues holistically.
- Strong communication skills; Dutch required.
- In possession of VOL-VCA or willingness to obtain it.
- Taking ownership of content and results.
- Structured working method and honoring agreements.
- Identifying bottlenecks and taking proactive action.
- Bringing others along based on content and experience; comfortable improving working methods and implementing professional standards.
Tasks
- Working independently on complex advisory and project processes within sustainability and energy.
- Act as a strategic and substantive consultant and assist clients with complex choices at the intersection of technology, policy, sustainability, and regulations.
- Translating customer requests into concrete projects and products.
- Analyzing technical and energy issues and translating them into practical, feasible solutions.
- Making well-founded choices in design, system setup, and optimizations with an eye to safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Drafting clear reports, calculations, and technical elaborations that are directly applicable in practice.
- Working on integrated and policy-related issues, such as setting up quality systems, certification processes, and GHG calculations or environmental impact analyses.
- Developing guidelines, methodologies, and standards aimed at structural improvement and quality assurance.
- Conducting analyses (e.g. RCAs) and translating them into concrete improvement measures in projects and processes.
- Aligning content and progress with clients and acting as the subject matter point of contact.
- Steering decision-making and making consequences explicit.
- Guiding colleagues within projects and actively contributing to knowledge sharing.
- Identifying follow-up opportunities and translating them into substantive proposals.
- Taking substantive ownership and ensuring strong, concrete project execution.
Examples of project types you work on:
- Sustainable heat supply: analysis and redesign of heat management and integration of sustainable sources.
- Renewal and expansion of installations, including modernization and ensuring continuity during execution.
- Developing guidelines and calculation methodologies for CO₂ reduction measures.
- Waste heat utilization and energy system optimization, including coupling waste heat and CHPs to energy demand.
- Technical design and implementation of nitrogen reduction installations and permitting processes.
- Engineering of biogas and green gas installations and integration with existing energy supplies.
- Setting up and implementing quality systems and quality manuals, including procedures and certification processes.
Working conditions
- Location: Groningen, at the office.
- Full-time position.
