Description
You contribute to compliance with environmental legislation and to a healthy, safe living environment in regions such as Harlingen, Heerenveen, and Leeuwarden. You collaborate with permitting, supervision, and enforcement departments and advise companies and government authorities on environmental matters.
Job requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree level of work and thinking in environmental science, process or chemical technology, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of the Environmental Activities Decree (Bal) and the Environmental Act.
- Extensive relevant work experience in the environmental field.
- Experience in writing reports and advice.
- Pragmatic, result- and solution-oriented working method; shows initiative.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex subject matter clearly.
- A keen social and political antenna, collaborative and flexible, with the ability to seek connective solutions.
Tasks
- Assessing and supervising environmental permits and notifications.
- Ensuring that companies comply with laws and regulations regarding noise, odor, ecology, external safety, light, air quality, sustainability, and energy.
- Conducting consultations with clients, companies and consultants.
- Advising municipal organizations on complex, multi-faceted environmental permit applications in various sectors.
- Identifying and advising on developments or bottlenecks at companies requiring a permit.
- Participate in multidisciplinary projects within the field.
