Agricultural Environmental Supervisor

Environmental Monitoring Advisor specializing in the agricultural and/or industrial sector. You contribute to a safe and sustainable living environment in the Northern Netherlands and work within the framework of the Environment and Planning Act to support entrepreneurs and authorities in acting in an environmentally responsible manner.

• A higher professional education diploma in environmental science or a comparable qualification, supplemented with relevant courses in supervision and enforcement.
• At least one year of demonstrable experience as an environmental supervisor within a municipality, province or environmental service.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the Environment and Planning Act, the Environmental Management Act, the Building Decree, and relevant PGS guidelines; knowledge of the former Environmental Management Act is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex environmental issues.
• Excellent communication skills; able to listen well, ask follow-up questions, and make connections between various environmental themes.
• Professional attitude, with the ability to act in both an enforcement and advisory capacity and to carefully assess situations.

• Inspecting agricultural and industrial companies for compliance with the Environment and Planning Act and related regulations (including Bal, Bbl, and Bkl).
• Carrying out integrated inspections at A, B and C establishments, including IPPC companies.
• Assess whether companies act in accordance with their Environmental Permit.
• Reporting violations and drawing up reports.
• Preparing enforcement measures, such as a notice of intent to impose a penalty payment, in consultation with legal experts.
• Communicating constructively with entrepreneurs: explaining findings, discussing areas for improvement, and striking a balance between compliance and collaboration.
