Repair Welder who performs welding work in docks and shipyards for the renovation and conversion of ships.
Requires BmbE level 3, MAG level 3 and the mentioned welding certificates.
Works on both routine maintenance and large, complex ship conversion projects.

As a Repair Welder, you perform welding work in the dock and at the shipyard, focusing on the renovation, repair, and conversion of ships.
Job requirements
Required education, experience and skills:
- In possession of BmbE Level 3 and Mag Level 3 diplomas.
- Holds the following welding certificates: 138 BW/FW PE/PB, 136 BW/FW PF/PB, 111 BW/FW PF/PB, 111 BW/FW PC/PB.
- Hands-on worker who works accurately and has a practical mindset.
- Solution-oriented thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Fluent in English for good communication skills and compliance with safety regulations.
Tasks
You use your welding skills to renovate old ships, perform complex repairs, and transform existing vessels. You are responsible for welding work in our dock and at the shipyard and work on a wide variety of ships. Activities range from periodic maintenance to repairing damage, and you participate in larger, complex projects.
Examples of tasks:
- Construction and installation of new ship sections and connection to existing structures.
- Cutting, preparing, and assembling parts in the floating dock.

Description of the organisation
Royal Niestern Sander is a versatile and innovative shipyard that designs, builds, and repairs vessels, specializing in complex, customer-oriented ship conversions. The shipyard is located in Farmsum and Delfzijl and has been part of the Wagenborg Group since 2008. Our facilities include multiple production halls for new construction, a slipway, two dry docks (outside the dikes) for repairs, and an in-house machine shop for metal parts. With over 120 years of knowledge and experience, Royal Niestern Sander is regarded as one of the leading shipyards in the north of the Netherlands. Approximately 160 employees work there on permanent contracts, all covered by the collective labour agreement for the metal and electrical engineering industry.
