Environmental manager
Description
Responsible for the environment in the preparatory phase of projects; you work to remove obstacles to implementation.
Job requirements
- Relevant higher professional or university education, for example communication, public administration or spatial planning.
- Experience as an environmental manager and several years of experience in processes and participation, preferably in large, complex projects.
- Affinity with (energy) technology.
- Good empathy and a political antenna.
- Ability to maintain an overview and manage results.
- Strong, independently working senior environmental manager.
- Willingness and ability to train junior and mid-level environmental managers.
Tasks
- Responsible for urban planning, participation, permits, land affairs, and cables & pipes in the preparatory phase of projects.
- Developing and implementing participation and communication strategies and organising stakeholder management.
- Creating conditions for optimal cooperation with municipalities, other permit issuers, fellow grid operators and external parties.
- Involving the local community in projects and mapping out who is affected and how, such as water boards and local residents.
- Sharing appropriate information with residents, businesses, and landowners through letters, residents' evenings, or kitchen-table discussions.
- Maintaining an overview and focusing on results; keeping stakeholders engaged and maintaining close contact with municipalities, provinces, and TenneT.
- Solution-oriented work and having plans ready to tackle assignments.
Working conditions
Not a freelancer; available 1 day per week at the Zwolle office (Thursdays). Flexible working options: other office locations, working from home, and occasional on-site visits.
Description of the organization
You will work in the Energy System & Environment department in the HS/MS team, which is responsible for the spatial integration of new and existing HS/MS stations.
This team forms the link between TenneT's high-voltage grid and Enexis's medium-voltage grid and works closely with project leaders, project support staff, spatial planning lawyers, urban planners, land stewards, and other environmental managers.
The team consists of professionals who value connections with the environment and are open to input, advice and ideas.
