Design engineer
Senior Design Engineer responsible for developing product specifications and detailed designs.
Minimum HBO degree and five years of experience in heavy mechanical engineering, preferably offshore.
Work in a multidisciplinary engineering team within an international offshore wind company.
Description
As an experienced Design Engineer, you will be involved in the early design of products and work within a multidisciplinary engineering team on solutions for offshore wind applications.
Job requirements
- Completed training in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime or Civil Engineering at a minimum HBO level or a WO level.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in heavy engineering, preferably in the offshore industry.
- Experience with mechanics, stiffness and strength theory, drive technology and methodical design.
- Knowledge of Inventor and AutoCAD; knowledge of Rstab or similar calculation programs is a plus.
- Experience with hydraulics and knowledge of production techniques.
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Strong communication skills, flexibility and the ability to cope with dynamic working conditions.
- Pragmatic, independent and proactive work attitude; accurate and results-oriented.
- Curious and a team player who enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams.
Tasks
- Develop product specifications in basic and/or detailed designs, supported by (manual) calculations.
- Select constructive solutions and drive concepts in consultation with the team, taking into account SMST standards, customer requirements, and regulations of certification bodies.
- Create production drawings and parts lists or coordinate and check their creation by third parties.
- Transfer drawing packages to production and contribute to solutions for engineering issues arising from production.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of existing functionalities and products through substantiated improvement proposals.
