Apprentice Electrician
An electrical engineering student assists with the installation of complete electrical systems.
Required: affinity with technology, willingness to undergo vocational training, and a good command of the Dutch language.
Work is carried out at projects and for private clients in Friesland and the north of the Netherlands.
Description
You work on new construction, conversion, and renovation of commercial projects and private homes in Friesland. You carry out work related to electrical installations, including lighting, distribution systems, cabling, switching equipment, data networks, and security and control systems.
Job requirements
- Affinity with technology and motivation to learn.
- Willingness to follow vocational training, often in combination with a work-study program.
- Opportunity to follow an MBO course (MBO Electrical Installation Technician or Senior Residential Technician, level 2 or 3); students typically attend school one day a week.
- Proficiency in the Dutch language for effective communication with colleagues.
- A driver's license is useful but not mandatory; a willingness to obtain one is desirable.
- Competencies: flexible, customer-oriented, reliable and positive.
Tasks
- Assisting with the installation of complete electrical systems in commercial buildings and homes.
- Installing, connecting, and assembling electrical components such as distribution boxes, cabling, lighting, and switching equipment.
- Working on new construction, renovation and large-scale conversions of commercial buildings and homes.
- Collaborate with fellow installers, subcontractors, and project management to deliver installations safely, to high quality, and on schedule.
- Ensure that the work on location is carried out neatly and professionally.
- Working on both multi-day large projects and project phases with varied activities.
- Troubleshooting and performing maintenance for business customers (e.g., central heating boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ventilation systems).
- Installing, mounting and configuring security systems.
