Description

Climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution call for concrete actions and solutions. As an Environmental Science trainee, you work on environmental issues within the public sector and connect ecology, policy, and practice.

Job requirements

  • Completed higher professional or university degree in environmental science or ecology.
  • Analytically and practically minded; you can conduct research and translate it into advice.
  • Communicatively skilled; you can explain complex environmental topics to non-specialists.
  • Excellent command of Dutch (C2), both written and spoken.

Tasks

  • Conducting ecological research, including inventories of flora and fauna, and assessing the effects of developments on nature and Natura 2000.
  • Conduct soil and water investigations and assess groundwater quality and remediation plans.
  • Contribute to sustainability projects such as energy transition, circular economy, and climate adaptation.
  • Advising on environmental permits, sustainability measures, and nature-inclusive construction.
  • Support enforcement through checks on compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Informing residents and businesses about environmental issues.

Working conditions

  • Start immediately with a permanent contract.
  • Equivalent remuneration: at least the same value in employment conditions as at the client.
  • 25 days of vacation and 8,33% holiday allowance.

Description of the organization
