Job requirements
- Completed higher professional or university education in environmental science, biology, ecology, applied earth sciences, environmental science, soil/water/air, nature management or a similar field.
- Analytical and practical: ability to conduct research and translate it into advice.
- Communication skills: able to explain complex environmental topics to non-specialists.
- Excellent command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken, is required for participation in the traineeship.
Tasks
- Ecological research: inventories of flora and fauna, effects of developments on nature, and Natura 2000 assessments.
- Soil and water: conducting or assessing soil research, assessing groundwater quality, and implementing remediation plans.
- Sustainability projects: contributing to energy transition, circular economy and climate adaptation.
- Advisory services: assessing environmental permits, providing sustainability advice, and advising on nature-inclusive construction.
- Supporting enforcement: checks on compliance with environmental legislation.
- Communication: informing residents and businesses about environmental issues.
