Description
As a Design & Proposal Engineer, you translate customer requirements into sustainable technical concepts and commercial proposals, with an emphasis on making commercial vessels and (super)yachts more sustainable through the application of electric propulsion, energy storage, and high-end energy conversion systems.
Job requirements
- Completed higher professional education; a degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology is a plus.
- Number of years of relevant work experience in a similar position.
- Work experience in the maritime and/or offshore market is an advantage.
- Passion for sustainability and the application of (new) energy conversion techniques.
- Good communication skills, flexibility and a high sense of responsibility.
- Ability to explain complex subjects clearly, think in a solution-oriented way, and collaborate well.
- Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
Tasks
- Actively participate in various energy transition issues.
- Analyzing the client's request and advising on suitable technologies together with technical specialists.
- Determine the offering strategy together with the manager.
- Requesting and assessing offers from suppliers.
- Delivery of the complete technical and commercial quotation, including cost calculations.
- Contribute to the standardization of system solutions.

Description of the organization
The Systems business unit operates under the brand name Marpower and is a leading player in power converters and automation solutions for the maritime and offshore market. It develops, manufactures, and supplies high-quality power electronics for energy storage, hybrid electric (ship) propulsion, DC distribution systems, grid conversion, and shore power connections. These systems are automated by the Marpower Automation platform for power and energy management, vessel performance monitoring, and the secure provision of (big) data via the Marpower Data Portal. In this position, you will be part of the sales team of the Systems business unit.
