Group Procurement Manager
Description
As Group Procurement Manager, you design and build the strategic procurement foundation for a fast-growing, multi-site organization. You work at the group level; local teams execute operational and tactical procurement, while you focus on governance, strategic sourcing, supplier management, capex, technical center support, digitalization, and scaling up the new factory in Prešov, Slovakia.
Initially, you will be supported by an external procurement specialist to enable you to fulfill the role independently. The position combines hands-on purchasing work with a strategic, international greenfield assignment and offers opportunities for growth.
Job requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in an international production environment; experience in metalworking or HVAC is a plus.
- Experience with procurement transformation, scaling up, or greenfield projects is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of modern ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle) and P2P tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with commodity indexation (such as steel/energy) and complex contractual structures.
- You feel comfortable in a growing organization and the organized chaos that comes with it; you are curious, ambitious, and enterprising.
- Good persuasion and advisory skills and the ability to guide teams towards new working methods.
- You can combine strategy with hands-on problem-solving where necessary.
- Good command of Dutch and English; German is a plus.
Tasks
- Designing and implementing procurement governance: purchasing policy, approval flows, category ownership, supplier qualification, and a center-led operating model.
- Leading strategic sourcing for key categories, including stainless steel (70% of the spend), logistics, MRO, and major CAPEX investments.
- Strengthening the supplier network through the implementation of SRM, mitigating supply risks, and ensuring supply continuity during the start-up of the Slovak factory.
- Driving digital transformation in the procurement flow, including the transition from Exact to Microsoft Dynamics, enabling guided buying, and improving master data quality.
- Harmonizing purchasing standards between locations and guiding stakeholders towards a more strategic way of working.
- Supporting the technical center and the scale-up preparation of the new factory.
