Trainee mechanic following a paid MBO-3 program to become an electrician.
Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and conversion of distribution stations.
Required: VMBO diploma, driving licence B, and Dutch at a minimum B2 level; working in the Groningen region.
Description
You follow a paid MBO-3 training program to become an electrical technician while simultaneously working in the field. You perform troubleshooting and maintenance work and often work alongside an experienced technician.
Job requirements
- In possession of a vmbo diploma (theoretical, mixed or intermediate vocational education) or a specialization in electrical engineering.
- Willingness to follow a practice-oriented MBO-3 course to become an electrician.
- Experience with electrical engineering through education and/or work is required.
- Proficient with computers.
- In possession of driving license B.
- Living in the Groningen region (preferably Leek and surroundings).
- Good command of Dutch, at least at B2 level.
Tasks
- Often start from home and work at various locations in the region.
- Troubleshooting and performing maintenance work.
- Replacing distribution boxes and converting complete distribution stations.
- Inspecting stations and recording transformer loads during quieter moments.
- Performing on-call duties as soon as you are ready.
- Keeping track of bus maintenance and ensuring the MOT is scheduled.
- Writing reports for school and participating in exams and safety training during the course.
Working conditions
You will receive a combination of working and learning, with two days of theory and practice and three days shadowing an experienced mechanic. The training leads to an official diploma with a job guarantee.
- Your own company van with good tools from day one.
- Laptop and telephone that may also be used privately.
- Compensation of €455 gross per on-call and breakdown service and additional payment for hours worked during breakdowns.
- Additional leave days to be accrued pro rata to on-call duties.
- Outpatient allowance of €80 gross per month.
- Annual vitality budget of €700.
- 70% contribution to the ABP Optional Pension and 8% holiday allowance on the gross annual salary.

- Good tools and work clothing are provided.
