Agricultural Environmental Supervisor
Environmental Inspector responsible for inspections regarding compliance with the Environment and Planning Act at agricultural and industrial companies. Conducts comprehensive inspections, identifies violations, and prepares enforcement measures. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, at least 1 year of experience, and up-to-date knowledge of the Environment and Planning Act and relevant decrees.
Description
In this position, you will work on current themes within the Environment and Planning Act, supporting government authorities and businesses and overseeing compliance with environmental regulations in the Northern Netherlands.
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a comparable education.
- At least 1 year of experience as an environmental inspector at a municipality, province, or environmental agency.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant decrees and PGS guidelines.
- Preferably knowledge of the Environmental Management Act (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to act in both an advisory and enforcement capacity and to carefully assess situations.
Tasks
- Inspecting agricultural and industrial companies for compliance with the Environment and Planning Act and related decrees, such as the Activities in the Living Environment Decree (Bal), the Buildings in the Living Environment Decree (Bbl), and the Quality of the Living Environment Decree (Bkl).
- Conducting comprehensive inspections at type A, B, and C establishments, including IPPC companies, and assessing whether they are acting in accordance with their Environmental Permit.
- Identifying violations and preparing clear reports.
- Preparing enforcement measures in collaboration with legal experts, such as notices of intent to impose a penalty payment order.
- Constructively guiding entrepreneurs on areas for improvement and maintaining the balance between compliance and collaboration.
