Communications adviser

The advisor plays a crucial role in making municipal policy and projects visible and understandable. The position forms a link between strategy and implementation and requires collaboration with project teams, policy advisors, and administrators to translate complex information and involve residents and businesses in societal challenges such as sustainable energy and housing.

• HBO or WO work and thinking level.
• Several years of experience as a communications advisor, preferably within a government organization.
• Affinity with sustainability, housing, spatial development, and societal challenges.
• Insight into the functioning of a political-administrative organization and a feel for administrative relations.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear messages and adapt them to the target audience.
• Ability to take initiative, think ahead, and bring structure to communication issues.
• Willingness to learn the Frisian language if not known.

• Developing communication strategies and advising at policy and board level.
• Supporting communication regarding the housing challenge and promoting sufficient, affordable housing in liveable neighborhoods.
• Collaborate closely with the Sustainability Team on communication regarding energy transition and future-proof energy systems.
• Guiding communication for area developments and sustainable projects, including participation processes.
• Bringing coherence between various projects and strengthening an integrated approach within the organization.
• Translating strategy into concrete communication materials, such as resident letters and campaigns.
• Tailoring messages to different target groups and channels.
