Job requirements

  • Completed higher professional or university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or similar.
  • Approximately five years of relevant experience, for example as a financial controller or in accountancy or audit practice.
  • Good oral and written command of Dutch and English.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and strong communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with sustainability/ESG reporting is a plus but not required.

Tasks

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyzes for management.
  • Coordinate closings, including balance sheet specifications, journal entries, and financial analyses.
  • Process and correct general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, and interim accounts.
  • Process and verify intercompany transactions and perform reconciliations between entities.
  • Assist with cost calculations, project administration, and progress reporting.
  • Prepare VAT returns and contribute to other tax reports.
  • Monitor internal control measures, compliance, and risk management.
  • Act as first point of contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
  • Identify deviations, risks, and areas for improvement within financial processes.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements, standardization, and further professionalization of the financial organization.
  • Provide functional guidance to the accounting team and act as a connecting link between the team, management, and external parties.
  • Contribute to sustainability/ESG reporting as part of the role.

Working conditions

  • Salary between €4,800 and €5,800 per month, depending on education and experience.
  • Home office allowance and travel allowance.
  • Annual profit-sharing scheme.
  • 27 annual vacation days plus 13 ADV days, with the option to exchange 3, 6, or 9 ADV days for extra salary.
