Description
As a Senior Industrial Transformation Researcher, you work in an interdisciplinary research team on technical and economic solutions for CO2 reduction in industry. You develop and execute research lines, contribute to publications and implementations at companies, and contribute to education and consortium formation for the scaling up of technologies.
Job requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least ten years of demonstrable relevant research and field experience in the energy and industry sectors.
- Knowledge and experience in mapping energy flows and assessing the use of molecules versus electrons in industrial processes.
- Ability to analyze existing processes and investigate how they can be made more sustainable, taking into account affordability and delivery reliability.
- Demonstrable experience with developing research lines, securing funding, managing researchers, and publishing research.
- Technical insight to identify opportunities for environmentally friendly initiatives and translate these into detailed project concepts.
- Proficiency in interpreting policy and policy changes and translating them into necessary adjustments in industrial processes.
- Critical and reflective thinking in research design and execution.
Tasks
- Working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of lecturers, researchers, coordinators, and students.
- Investigating technical and economic aspects of industrial transformation, with a focus on CO2 emission reduction.
- Developing a vision for research into new processes and positioning development phases from laboratory to implementation.
- Setting up and conducting one or more research lines within the theme of industrial transformation.
- Writing research proposals and securing external funding.
- Building consortia with other researchers and market parties.
- Co-conducting ongoing and new research, including experiments, execution, and analysis of results.
- Managing the research team and supervising students.
- Contribute to publications and the implementation of research results at companies.
- Ensuring research quality and working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to relevant Bachelor's and/or Master's education and work in an agile, practice-oriented manner.
