Environmental manager
Description
In this versatile role, you are responsible for the stakeholders during the preparatory (project management) and/or execution (participation) phases of projects. You develop participation and communication strategies, monitor issue management, and organize stakeholder management. You safeguard the wishes and technical requirements gathered from stakeholders during a project and serve as the point of contact for them.
Job requirements
You work in a solution-oriented manner, always have a plan and backup plans to respond to risks. You possess empathy and a good political antenna, give stakeholders the right attention at the right time, and are open to criticism, which you translate into action when necessary. Collaboration is the key to success for you; you can be both decisive and vulnerable and are clear in your communication.
Requirements:
- Relevant higher professional or university degree, for example in communication, public administration, or spatial planning.
- Several years of experience as an environmental manager, with processes and participation surrounding area developments, preferably within large, complex projects.
- Affinity with (energy) technology.
Tasks
- Developing and implementing participation and communication strategies.
- Monitoring issue management and organizing stakeholder management.
- Identifying and securing wishes and technical requirements from the environment.
- Creating conditions for optimal collaboration with municipalities, partners, fellow grid operators, and contractors on large-scale projects.
- Maintaining contact with municipalities, project managers, and contractors, and keeping those involved in the projects informed.
- Involving local residents, businesses, and landowners, and informing them through appropriate means (e.g., letters, residents' meetings, or informal discussions).
- Working as part of project teams and collaborating with project leaders, planning lawyers/urban planners, permit advisors, land managers, and engineers.
