Well Engineer responsible for engineering workover and plug & abandonment programs in the oil and gas industry. Key tasks: drafting and reviewing P&A and workover programs and providing technical advice. Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree, minimum 3 years of experience, and valid well control certification.
Description
As a Well Engineer, you play a key role in the safe and efficient execution of operations. You are responsible for the engineering process of workover and plug & abandonment programs and advise on the best possible shutdown strategy. You work closely with colleagues and customers worldwide.
Job requirements
- A completed HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Well Engineer and/or Supervisor at a (large) oil and gas company.
- Extensive industry training and a valid well control certification.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with plug & abandonment, including internal and annular remediation techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, decisive, and with an eye for the bigger picture.
Tasks
- Engineering, writing, and reviewing workover and P&A programs.
- Setting up well-on-paper scenarios for abandonment and workovers.
- Participation in after-action reviews to continuously improve.
- Market research into new innovative products and services.
- Supporting the R&D and Innovation team in the development of proprietary solutions.
- Providing ad-hoc technical advice in unforeseen situations.
