Description

As a Well Engineer, you play a key role in the safe and efficient execution of operations. You are responsible for the engineering process of workover and plug & abandonment programs and advise on the best possible shutdown strategy. You work closely with colleagues and customers worldwide.

Job requirements

  • A completed HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Well Engineer and/or Supervisor at a (large) oil and gas company.
  • Extensive industry training and a valid well control certification.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with plug & abandonment, including internal and annular remediation techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills, decisive, and with an eye for the bigger picture.

Tasks

  • Engineering, writing, and reviewing workover and P&A programs.
  • Setting up well-on-paper scenarios for abandonment and workovers.
  • Participation in after-action reviews to continuously improve.
  • Market research into new innovative products and services.
  • Supporting the R&D and Innovation team in the development of proprietary solutions.
  • Providing ad-hoc technical advice in unforeseen situations.
