You will become part of an experienced team where your expertise contributes directly to the safe and successful realization of the project. As Production Manager, you play a key role in both the construction and the future operation of DSL-01. You report to the Plant Manager and bridge two phases: you contribute to important design choices during construction and are responsible for production once the plant is operational. Your focus is clear: stable processes, strong teams, and continuous improvement.

Tasks
- Incorporate operational knowledge of a 24/7 operation into the design, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Participate in HAZOP sessions and 3D model reviews to identify risks and improve design choices.
- Assess technical documentation from an operational perspective, for example, insulation, drainability, and cleanability.
- Contribute to commissioning plans and the preparation of the operational phase.
- Develop procedures, training materials, and start-up documentation, and translate design choices into practical knowledge for future operators.
- Be regularly present in Zoetermeer and at suppliers to ensure coordination with engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
- After commissioning, manage daily production and supervise shift supervisors and operators within a Seveso environment.
- Ensure a stable, safe, and predictable operation by translating production plans into clear priorities and a stable workflow.
- Manage performance based on KPIs such as OEE, throughput, downtime, energy consumption, and costs.
- Build and develop a strong operations team, including coaching of supervisors and operators.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and foster a culture of discipline and ownership.

Description of the organization
In Delfzijl, we are building DSL-01, a renewable fuel plant that produces Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual streams such as used fats and oils using HEFA technology. In addition, by-products such as butane, propane, and naphtha are produced. DSL-01 will be the first plant in Europe fully focused on SAF and associated sustainable by-products. At full production, the annual output will be 100.000 tonnes of SAF and 35.000 tonnes of by-products, with approximately 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil kerosene measured across the chain. Construction started in 2026, and initial production is scheduled for 2028. The project includes the plant itself, associated pipelines, and temporary work sites. We work in accordance with international standards and Dutch laws and regulations, placing safety, sustainability, and collaboration at the forefront.
