Permit Officer, Specialization in the Environment
The Environmental Permits Officer handles environmental permits and BAL notifications from application to decision.
Requirements: minimum MBO (e.g. Environmental Science), experience with V-Stacks, Aerius and ISL3a, and knowledge of DSO.
You work within a municipal VTHV team and liaise with internal and external parties.
Description
As a Permits Officer specializing in Environment within the Permits, Supervision, Enforcement, and Safety team, you handle permit applications from start to finish and work closely with colleagues and external parties.
Job requirements
- At least a suitable MBO education (e.g., Environmental Science), supplemented with relevant specializations within the field.
- Possess an EVP or be willing to have one drawn up.
- Experience with calculation programs such as V-Stacks, Aerius and ISL3a.
- Knowledge of the Digital Environmental Act System (DSO).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Political and administrative sensitivity and a strong service-oriented attitude.
- Able to work independently and function well in a team; flexible and able to handle change well.
- Resilient and professional in conflict situations.
- Positive attitude towards the Frisian language; passive command of Frisian is an advantage.
Tasks
- Granting environmental permits and answering customer questions.
- Handling and advising on notifications under the Environmental Activities Decree (Bal).
- Managing procedures and providing case management.
- Coordinating and communicating with external parties, such as initiators, FUMO and the province.
- Providing (technical) contributions to policy areas such as noise, external safety, odor, light, and air.
- Identifying opportunities for improving work processes and collaborating with internal teams.
