Description

Senior Sustainability Policy Advisor contributing to strengthening and implementing the municipality's sustainability vision and strategy in the Friesland region.

Job requirements

  • HBO or WO education.
  • Extensive experience in a strategic advisory role, preferably in the public sector (approximately five years of experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability and current trends and developments.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to clearly explain complex issues and inspire and persuade others.
  • Demonstrable leadership; ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proactive attitude; ability to work independently and take initiative.

Tasks

  • Advising the municipal council and the Municipal Executive on strategic issues in the field of sustainability.
  • Ensuring that sustainable solutions are given a prominent place in policy-making and decision-making.
  • Strengthening and implementing the sustainability vision and strategy; developing and realizing plans that contribute to the sustainable ambitions of the municipality.
  • Leading and fostering collaboration within the team and involving the team in administrative advisory work.
  • Leading strategically complex dossiers and projects, such as energy issues, the transition to sustainable energy sources, and drafting a comprehensive sustainability strategy.
  • Monitoring developments in the field of sustainability and translating them into innovative and practical solutions for the municipality.
