Description
Environmental permit officer with a focus on open ground source energy systems. You work within multidisciplinary teams on a safe, clean, and sustainable living environment and are responsible for the entire permit granting process and providing advice on it.
Job requirements
- Relevant higher professional education, preferably in Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Geohydrology, or Land and Water Management.
- Relevant knowledge in the field of waste materials and/or the process industry.
- Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations regarding various environmental aspects and developments concerning the Environment and Planning Act.
- Experience with assessing geohydrological model calculations and performing simple calculations.
- Ability to separate main issues from minor ones and to view interests and risks from different perspectives.
- Capacity to make comprehensive assessments together with advisors and chain partners and arrive at well-considered decisions.
- Good written and oral communication skills and political-administrative sensitivity.
- Overview and organizational skills to monitor request planning and arrange work distribution.
Tasks
- Monitoring the quality of the living environment and minimizing negative effects of waste or industrial companies.
- Responsible for the entire permit granting process, from coordination to contact with companies and other government organizations.
- Assessing the admissibility of the environmental component of notifications and (multiple) applications.
- Advising on and/or drafting decisions regarding the granting, refusal, or revocation of environmental permits, particularly for open ground energy systems (OBES).
- Processing notifications under the Living Environment Activities Decree and the Environment Plan.
- Working on the basis of representative measurement data, substantiated calculations or risk analyses, and drafting customized regulations and consenting decisions.
- Identifying which environmental specialists and/or legal experts need to be engaged and assessing their contributions for relevance and applicability.
- Assessing geohydrological (model) calculations and independently performing simple calculations.
- Consulting with internal and external parties and informing and advising on geothermal energy plans and the procedures to be followed.
Working conditions
- Employment contract for one year with the prospect of permanent employment after the first year.
- Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,05% of the gross salary, to be used for, among other things, extra leave, the purchase of a bicycle, or the exchange of commuting kilometers.
