Description
As an independent Instrumentation Engineer (Focal Point), you provide specialist knowledge in the field of instrumentation for specific equipment and complex process installations within Gasunie assets. You work at a strategic and tactical level on policy issues, contract management, and innovation, and switch to an operational level for complex failures and maintenance issues.
Job requirements
- Higher professional education in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or similar.
- Up-to-date knowledge of measurement and control technology, ATEX, process control, pneumatic and electronic control technology, analytical equipment, and automation.
- Hands-on technical profile with experience within maintenance organizations and maintenance engineering.
- Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally internationally.
- Good command of Dutch and English.
- Ability to work independently and make own substantive choices within the boundaries of the assignment.
- Ability to weigh interests and translate technical complexity into concrete advice.
Tasks
- Act as an authority for the areas of expertise of accounting measurement traffic, field instrumentation, analytical measurements, odorization, and mobile measurement systems, with an emphasis on accounting measurement traffic.
- Drafting and coordinating system policy plans with stakeholders such as asset management, field organization, project engineers, and mechanical engineers.
- Periodically analyze system performance, report to stakeholders, and ensure follow-up.
- Supporting the reliability engineer in the continuous maintenance optimization process.
- Providing 2nd-line support and performing root cause analyses for structural failures.
- Drafting specifications and maintenance instructions for internal operations colleagues.
- Enjoy structured consultations with technicians in regions and at installations.
- Contribute to standardization, optimization, sustainability, and innovation, and translate findings into policy and standards.
- Acting as a source of information regarding applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Participate in working groups within and outside Gasunie.
Working conditions
Location: Groningen. The assignment will be executed in a hybrid manner: approximately 50% on location (various sites in the Netherlands, depending on project requirements) and approximately 50% in Groningen or hybrid.
- Number of hours per week: 32 to 40 hours (max. 1.840 hours on an annual basis, on a full-time basis/pro rata).
- Hire period: ASAP until 01-04-2027.
- Fixed 13th month (holiday pay) and a 14th month.
- 20 vacation days for full-time employment; purchase up to 27,5 extra leave days with a flexible choice budget.
- Commuting allowance: €0,23 per km.
- Monthly home work allowance: € 24,50 (net).

The Technical Expertise Centre E&I is part of Business Line CH4 and focuses on the management and maintenance of transport assets, projects, and infrastructure, including emergency handling, damage repair, replacement, and expansions. The unit provides expertise in the fields of electrical engineering and instrumentation, thereby contributing to safe, efficient, and sustainable asset management.
