Service Engineer
Service Engineer who resolves malfunctions, supports customers, and commissions systems worldwide. Requires MBO/HBO in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics. You will work abroad or at sea for approximately 60% of the year.
Description
Dynamic and varied role within SMST where you are responsible for service, improvement, and testing of offshore systems.
The position is filled through an internal training program and is suitable for school leavers with relevant internship experience or young professionals who wish to further develop their skills.
Job requirements
- Completed MBO/HBO education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maritime Academy, Mechatronics, or similar.
- Can function under offshore conditions.
- Knowledge of and (internship) experience with electrical systems and measurement & control technology.
- Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus.
- Experience with PLC software is a plus.
- Proactive, hands-on mentality.
- Eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions.
- Strong analytical skills and enjoys solving complex problems.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good command of the English language, spoken and written.
- High level of technical proficiency and independence due to limited direct support caused by time differences.
- Suitable for school leavers with relevant internship experience or young professionals who want to develop themselves.
Tasks
- Traveling worldwide to resolve issues and support customers.
- Participate in installation, commissioning, and assist with product acceptance.
- Remotely read out, analyze, and translate faults into service-oriented solutions from the home base.
- Functionally improving and testing machines on the company premises.
- Training the client's crew so that they handle the equipment safely and adequately.
- Work both independently and with colleagues.
- Working abroad or at sea for approximately 60% of the year.
