Design engineer
Description
Senior Design Engineer (40 hours per week) within a multidisciplinary engineering team. You are involved in product design from an early stage and work on solutions for the offshore wind sector in Drachten.
Job requirements
- Completed training in Mechanical Engineering, Maritime or Civil Engineering at a minimum HBO level or a WO level.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in heavy machinery manufacturing, preferably in the offshore industry.
- Experience with mechanics, stiffness and strength theory, drive technology, and (methodical) design.
- Knowledge of Inventor and AutoCAD; knowledge of Rstab or similar calculation programs is a plus.
- Experience with hydraulics and knowledge of production techniques.
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Good communication skills, flexibility in dynamic working conditions, and a pragmatic, practical attitude.
- Independent, proactive, accurate, result-oriented, curious, and a team player in multidisciplinary teams.
Tasks
- Developing product specifications into basic and/or detailed designs, supported by (manual) calculations.
- Selecting structural solutions and drive concepts in collaboration with the team, taking into account standards, customer requirements, and certification regulations.
- Creating production drawings and bills of materials, or coordinating and checking their creation by third parties.
- Contribute to the design and further development of products and make substantiated improvement proposals for existing functionalities.
- Ensuring the transfer of drawing packages to production and contributing to solutions for engineering challenges from production.
Working conditions
