Description
Policy Advisor Environment & External Safety for 36 hours per week, with a key role in developing and implementing municipal policy in the field of environment and external safety.
Job requirements
- At least a completed higher professional education (HBO) degree, preferably in an environmental (technical) or administrative field.
- Extensive experience as a policy officer or advisor within the policy field of environment and external safety.
- Broad vision on environment and external safety and up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills, with an eye for practical execution.
- Proactive and solution-oriented attitude; thinks in possibilities.
- Independent, steadfast, and able to reflect clearly on one's own actions.
Tasks
- Serves as a subject matter expert on environment and external safety within the municipality.
- Develops policy and translates ambitions into feasible plans and projects.
- Contributes to cohesion and progress between involved policy areas.
- Addresses themes such as external safety, air quality, noise, circularity, and water quality.
- Involves colleagues in substantive choices and maintains an overview.
- Translates national and regional developments into concrete municipal initiatives.
- Monitors technological and policy developments and makes them applicable to municipal policy.
- Serves as a substantive sparring partner for spatial developments regarding all environmental aspects.
- Advises the Board and Management and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributes to related themes such as sustainable mobility, circular economy, climate adaptation, and the sustainability of real estate.

Description of the organisation
You will be appointed within the Spatial and Economic Development policy team, part of the Physical Living Environment and Economy Cluster.
The team collaborates on policy development in areas including spatial and area development, heritage, soil, ecology, economy, leisure economy, and art and culture.
