Description
Environment & External Safety Policy Advisor who plays a key role in further developing and realizing municipal ambitions in the field of environment and external safety. You are an experienced and knowledgeable discussion partner for colleagues, management, and the Board, and make a significant substantive contribution to the department based on your expertise.
Job requirements
- At least a completed higher vocational education, preferably with an environmental (technical) background or an administrative direction.
- Extensive experience as a policy officer or advisor within the policy field of environment and external safety.
- Broad vision on environment and external safety and up-to-date knowledge of relevant trends and developments.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills while also having a practical mindset; you enjoy getting your hands dirty.
- Proactive, solution-oriented attitude, thinking in terms of possibilities, with the capacity for reflection and firmness in action.
Tasks
- Developing policy and translating ambitions into feasible plans for topics such as external safety, air quality, noise, circularity, and water quality.
- Ensuring coherence and progress within relevant policy areas and involving colleagues in substantive choices.
- Translating national and regional developments into concrete municipal initiatives.
- Monitoring technological and policy developments and translating these into feasible and widely supported municipal policy.
- Act as a substantive sparring partner for spatial developments regarding all relevant environmental aspects.
- Advising the Board, Management, and colleagues, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to related themes such as sustainable mobility, the circular economy, climate adaptation, and the sustainability of social and municipal real estate.

Description of the organization
You will be appointed within the Spatial and Economic Development policy team, part of the Physical Living Environment and Economy Cluster. Within the team, we collaborate on policy development in various fields, including spatial and area development, heritage, soil, ecology, economy, leisure economy, and art and culture.
The work atmosphere is informal, with short lines of communication and room for personal initiative. Every day, you work together with residents and entrepreneurs to make the municipality more sustainable and attractive.
