Description
You are responsible for promoting and improving the HSE policy within the organization, work closely with the HSEQ Manager, and are visible and active on the shop floor. You coach colleagues so that safety and environmentally conscious working become second nature and ensure that processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, and certifications.
Job requirements
- Completed MVK training (technical background is a plus)
- Up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented attitude
- Good command of Dutch and English
- Driving License B
- Affinity with the maritime sector is a plus.
- Visible in the workplace, dares to approach people, independent, accurate, and structured
- Drive, stamina and creative problem-solving ability
Tasks
- Conducting and updating the RI&E and the Action Plan
- Conducting audits and workplace inspections
- Identifying and analyzing unsafe situations and conducting incident investigations
- Initiating and following up on improvement measures
- Preparation of reports and management information
- Providing toolboxes and information
- Monitoring compliance with laws, regulations, and certifications (including ISO 9001 / ISO 45001)

Description of the organization
Koninklijke Niestern Sander is a versatile and innovative shipyard with approximately 160 colleagues who design, build, and repair ships. In addition, the shipyard specializes in often complex, customer-oriented ship conversions. The locations in Farmsum and Delfzijl feature production halls for new construction, a slipway, and two dry docks for repairs; since 2008, the company has been part of a larger group. With over 120 years of knowledge and experience, the shipyard is one of the best shipyards in the Northern Netherlands.
