Description of the organisation
Teijin Aramid is a progressive chemical manufacturing company and market leader in aramid fibers. The company produces Twaron, a super-strong golden-yellow aramid fiber that makes products safer, stronger, and more sustainable worldwide. The base for fiber production is located in Delfzijl; further processing takes place at the plant in Emmen, the largest aramid factory in the world with approximately 600 employees.
The department in Emmen specializes in the refinement of aramid fibers. Various processes are carried out there that impart specific properties to fibers and yarns: twisting, averaging, assembling, and creasing of yarns, and processing of yarns into pulp. Twaron pulp is primarily used in gaskets and brake shoes, in addition to various smaller markets.
The team works in five shifts and typically consists of one unit leader, two senior operators, six mechanical operators, and seven basic operators, where collaboration within the team is of great importance.
