Description
As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you work within the Electrical, Instrumentation & Process Control discipline and act as the Head of Department's right-hand person. You are responsible for designing and coordinating complex electrical engineering solutions within multidisciplinary projects, with opportunities for advancement to Specialist, Project Manager, or Engineering Manager.
Job requirements
- Completed education in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering within complex, multidisciplinary industrial projects.
- Knowledge of current electrical engineering concepts and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Solution-oriented ability regarding technical issues.
- Experience coordinating and delegating tasks.
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Team spirit and a flexible attitude.
Tasks
- Designing and coordinating complex electrical engineering designs for multidisciplinary projects.
- Collaborating with other disciplines such as building services (Civil and HVAC), piping, and process.
- Coordinate the project together with the project manager and other lead engineers, and be the face of Bilfinger Engineering to the client.
- Responsible for the quality of the electrical design, including budget monitoring and planning, and identifying scope changes.
- Overseeing and communicating the various engineering phases to colleagues and clients.
- Managing one or more electrical engineers and providing technical and project-based guidance to juniors, entry-level engineers, and interns.
- Determining the correct project scope and estimating the required hours.
- Overseeing technical specifications and cost estimates and advising the client and supply chain partners.
- Working on installations ranging from straightforward low-voltage installations to complex installations with large consumers (up to approximately 20 MVA) and grid connections up to approximately 150 kV.
- Electrical engineering designs can include, among others, energy distribution systems, lighting, grounding and lightning protection, tracing, and communication systems.
- Involvement in activities from conceptual engineering to construction management with the aim of safe, energy-efficient, and low-emission installations.
