Description

As an independent Instrumentation Engineer (Focal Point), you provide specialist knowledge in the field of instrumentation for specific equipment and complex process installations within Gasunie assets. You execute assignments based on your own professional assessment and methodology, and deliver pre-agreed results. In this role, you work at a strategic and tactical level on policy issues, contract management, and innovation, and switch quickly to an operational level for complex failures and maintenance issues.

Job requirements

  • Hands-on experience in instrumentation or related work.
  • Higher professional education in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or similar.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of measurement and control technology, ATEX, process control, pneumatic/electronic control technology, analytical equipment, and automation.
  • Experience within maintenance organisations and maintenance engineering.
  • Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally internationally.
  • Good command of Dutch and English.
  • Personal: ability to work independently and make own substantive choices within the boundaries of the assignment, weigh interests, and translate technical complexity into concrete advice.

Tasks

  • Acts as the authority for the areas of expertise of Accounting Measurement Traffic, Field Instrumentation, Analysis Measurements, Odorization, and Mobile Measurement Systems, with a focus on Accounting Measurement Traffic.
  • Advises plant and regional managers and develops system policy plans.
  • Aligns policy plans with internal stakeholders such as asset management, field organisation, project engineers, and mechanical engineers.
  • Periodically analyzes system performance, reports to stakeholders, and oversees follow-up.
  • Supports the reliability engineer in the continuous maintenance optimization process.
  • Provides 2nd-line support and performs root cause analyses for structural failures.
  • Draws up specifications and maintenance instructions for colleagues within Operations.
  • Hold structured consultations with technicians in the regions and at the installations.
  • Provides input for standardization, optimization, and innovation, and translates sustainability and innovation opportunities into policy and standards.
  • Serves as a resource for applicable laws, regulations, and standards, and participates in working groups within and outside Gasunie.

Working conditions

Location: Groningen. The assignment is performed in a hybrid manner: approximately 50% on-site (various sites in the Netherlands, depending on project requirements) and approximately 50% in Groningen/hybrid. Contract types: salaried employment with salary classification in accordance with the applicable CLA, or hiring via a supplier in accordance with the mediation agreement. Contract term: ASAP - 01-04-2027. You will receive a fixed 13th month and a 14th month; for full-time employment, 20 vacation days and the option to purchase additional leave days using the flexible choice budget (up to 27,5 days). Commuting allowance of 282 c0,23 per km and a monthly home office allowance of 282 c24,50 (net).

The E&I Technical Expertise Centre focuses on asset management and maintenance with experts in the fields of electrical and instrumentation.
