Energy Coordinator

Position within Technical Management at the UMCG, reporting to the Manager of Technical Management.
Description
As an Energy Coordinator, you work at an operational and tactical level on energy management, energy procurement, and the energy transition within a complex technical environment. You are the point of contact for energy supply on the UMCG campus and support the Technical Management Manager, the Executive Board, and the Board of Directors with advice. You report to the Technical Management Manager and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Job requirements
- Minimum higher professional education, preferably university level.
- Experience in energy management, energy transition, or related fields.
- Affinity with legal and financial issues.
- Experience with energy procurement, technical systems, energy balances, and sustainable technologies.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills; ability to translate policy into concrete actions.
- Quickly master new developments and effectively implement them within teams and the organization.
- Ability to take a firm and equal stance in conversations with various professionals.
Tasks
- Ensuring energy management across the entire UMCG site (gas, electricity, heat, cooling, steam).
- Developing and implementing fixation strategies for electricity, gas, and CO2 allowances (ETS).
- Drafting, implementing, and managing contracts for sustainable energy procurement (e.g., wind, solar, geothermal energy).
- Coordinating the interface between contracts and energy suppliers.
- Managing and updating all UMCG connections (EAN codes).
- Monitoring energy data and data quality.
- Checking energy bills and preparing energy balances, forecasts, and reports.
- Contribute to (real estate) compliance with laws and regulations.
- Jointly responsible for technical policy development aimed at the transition to sustainable energy supply.
- Serve as the point of contact for third parties purchasing energy from the UMCG.
- Directing the updating and implementation of the CO2 roadmap.
- Identifying and advising on subsidy opportunities.
- Collaborating with many internal and external stakeholders to increase energy awareness within the organization.
Working conditions
- Employment contract for one year with the prospect of a permanent contract.
- 8% holiday allowance.
- 8,3% year-end bonus.
- Pension accrual with ABP, where 70% of the premium is paid by the employer.

You will work within Technical Management, part of the Facilities Department, with approximately 90 colleagues.
