Logistics Team Leader responsible for managing approximately 20 drivers and overseeing 15 trucks.

Required: MBO/HBO working and thinking level and demonstrable managerial experience in transport; working within the circular economy.
Description
Logistics Team Leader (based in Hoogeveen) who manages approximately 20 drivers and is responsible for a fleet of about 15 trucks. The role is the linchpin of a reliable and future-proof transport operation and contributes to a positive, supportive work culture. You are visible and active on the shop floor and serve as the first point of contact for the team.
Job requirements
- MBO or HBO working and thinking level.
- Demonstrable experience directly managing operational staff within transport, logistics, or a similar work environment.
- Affinity with the waste and recycling industry is a plus.
- Digitally skilled and familiar with administrative processes and systems.
- Integrity and results-oriented, with safety as the highest priority for yourself and your team.
- Highly communicative: clear, direct, and people-oriented, with a motivating leadership style.
- Focused on achieving results, with an eye for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Structured and administratively strong; you maintain an overview and switch effortlessly between various tasks.
Tasks
- Leading and coaching the driver team, including conducting performance and appraisal interviews.
- Managing absence and monitoring sick leave, including conducting absence interviews.
- Coaching on safety, health, personal development, and certification.
- Guiding the recruitment and onboarding of new colleagues and stimulating growth within the team.
- Collaborating with planners and making adjustments for optimal route quality and the deployment of personnel and equipment.
- Active role in transport and maintenance planning of the vehicle fleet.
- Liaising with customers regarding service delivery bottlenecks and contributing to process improvements.
- Handling and checking administrative tasks, including staffing, tachograph data, weighing data, damages, complaints, and time registration.
- Identifying bottlenecks and proactively taking action to ensure the operation runs smoothly.
