Description
Strategic key position for a senior professional who guides the further professionalization of category and contract management. In this role, you connect strategy, operations, and change, and deliver direct impact on complex and socially relevant projects within the Dutch energy infrastructure. The position is part of the central Procurement & Supply Chain unit within the Contracting department and reports to the Category Contracting Manager within an organizational unit with approximately 140 professionals spread across five departments. Within Procurement & Supply Chain, you hold a strategic key position and contribute to ensuring security of supply and the realization of the energy transition, including in conjunction with major infrastructure projects such as Porthos, Aramis, WarmtelinQ, and the hydrogen network.
Job requirements
- Minimum HBO+/WO working and thinking level, through education and/or relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience in procurement and contract management, preferably within the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Several years of experience in a senior or strategic role.
- Comfortable in a complex and dynamic environment and skilled at switching between strategy, operations, and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex issues and translate them into clear solutions and concrete improvement initiatives.
- Connecting, reliable, and organizationally sensitive; skilled in bringing people along in change and creating buy-in.
- Combination of strategic insight with accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills with excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
Tasks
- Provide direction for the further professionalization of category and contract management.
- Develop strategic and tactical plans for one category and aim for maximum value creation for various business lines.
- Work closely with contract owners, project managers, Procurement Leads, contract managers, buyers, legal experts, and business developers.
- Bridge the gap between strategy and operations by translating complex issues into workable solutions and sustainable results.
- Translate organizational objectives into concrete, measurable team objectives and analyze performance, risks, and expenditures to realize targeted improvement initiatives.
- Contribute expertise to strategic objectives and the further development of the organization.
- Play a key role in change processes: create support for new working methods, encourage collaboration, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
