Description
Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer, working from offices in Groningen, Zwolle, or Leeuwarden. You will strengthen an industrial team of approximately 10–15 colleagues and work on multidisciplinary projects for clients in the new energy, chemical, and food sectors. The core business encompasses project management, consultancy, and multidisciplinary engineering for new construction and replacement projects.
Job requirements
- Completed higher professional or university degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Approximately ten years of relevant experience, preferably at an engineering firm or in an engineering team at an industrial plant.
- Experience with mechanical engineering in an industrial environment, with a clear focus on piping.
- Experience with Inventor, SolidWorks, and/or Plant3D, or the motivation to quickly master these packages.
- You enjoy collaborating with various disciplines, take initiative, and devise smart, practical solutions for complex issues.
Tasks
- Fulfill the technical lead role within multidisciplinary projects, with a clear focus on piping, installations, and grids.
- Translate process and customer requirements into well-thought-out, manufacturable designs and monitor the technical alignment within your project section.
- Coordinate proactively with the lead engineer or project manager, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure that the mechanical engineering scope aligns with other disciplines.
- Guide and direct junior and mid-level mechanical engineering colleagues and act as the point of contact for complex technical issues.
- Set up and evaluate designs and models; draw up and refine specifications; select equipment and verify supplier information.
- Provide substantive input on questions during implementation and realize solutions for integration into running production environments.
- Work on projects aimed at sustainability, energy conservation, electrification of installations, and the smart adaptation of existing plants, with attention to safety and integration.
