Description
Living Environment Policy Officer within the Public Health Policy & Advice department, connecting public health policy with spatial and substantive policy regarding the living environment.
Job requirements
- A relevant completed HBO or WO degree.
- Knowledge and experience in the field of the Living Environment or Medical Environmental Science.
- Knowledge and experience in the field of public health.
- Collaboration: ability to work with various disciplines and external partners.
- Proactive: identifying opportunities and acting upon them, including with new approaches.
- Environmentally aware: knowledgeable about social and political developments and utilizing them for the position or organization.
- Analyzing: identifying problems and questions and finding solutions, with the ability to distinguish between main and secondary issues.
- Working integrally: integrating new information from other disciplines, creating coherence between various developments and processes, and recognizing conflicts of interest.
Tasks
- Contribute to policy development within the living environment and provide solicited and unsolicited advice on policy aspects.
- Analyzing and translating developments within the living environment and advising colleagues, municipalities, and the Management Team on these matters.
- Aligning tasks with all stakeholders within the policy-making process.
- Establishing contacts with colleagues in the Municipality of Groningen to support the physical domain with environmental visions, plans, and programs.
- Maintaining contact with the Province of Groningen in the field of spatial planning, environment, and living environment.
- Participate in consultations within the physical and health domain and contribute expertise.
- Identifying opportunities for collaboration within various teams/departments of GGD Groningen and within the 3Noord partnership.
- Collaborating with policy advisors within one's own department and with colleagues from Medical Environmental Science, and collaborating with GGD Friesland and GGD Drenthe within 3Noord.
Working conditions
An employment contract for a period of one year with the prospect of permanent employment.
In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,05% of your gross salary. This IKB can be used monthly for purposes such as purchasing additional vacation days, exchanging commuting mileage, or a payout.
Description of the organization
The Public Health Policy and Advisory Department of GGD Groningen acts as a link between national, regional, and local knowledge and implementation. The department monitors current policy developments, societal issues, and trends affecting public health. It monitors public health through quantitative and qualitative analyses (epidemiology), translates and interprets this data (advice), and advises on interventions and health promotion. The department supports municipalities, the GGD board, field partners, and other departments. Topics within the living environment include air quality, noise, climate adaptation, energy transition, and the green, healthy design of the living environment.
