Description

As a High Voltage Specialist, you are the expert for the electricity supply within the factory. You bear ultimate technical responsibility for the management, optimization, and development of power supply systems, and monitor the reliability of all critical components. You ensure that high power loads (e.g., 60 MVA/30 kV) are safely and reliably routed to production facilities and utility services, including the power plant. You assume the role of Installation Manager (IV) during the testing and commissioning of high-voltage installations and control systems.

You work within the ETD (Electrical Engineering Service) department, part of Technical Services, and together with approximately ten colleagues, you support the factory's operations on a daily basis.

Job requirements

  • Higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level, obtained through an electrical engineering program or demonstrable equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of experience with high-voltage installations within an industrial production environment.
  • Supplemented with relevant courses and certificates, such as VCA-VOL and STIPEL IV/WV HS-LS, and knowledge of standards.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately, with responsibility for continuity and safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to manage a team.

Tasks

  • Maintenance and optimization of high-voltage and power supply components.
  • Analyzing and resolving malfunctions (troubleshooting).
  • Testing, inspecting, and delivering installations according to high safety and quality standards.
  • Acting as Installation Manager (IV) during the testing and commissioning of high-voltage installations and control systems.
  • Programming of protection relays and switching of installations.
  • Act as test manager and monitor process quality during testing and delivery.
  • Drafting technical designs, specifications, and project proposals, including budgeting.
  • Guiding supplier selections and procurement processes.
  • Leading sub-projects within the energy supply.
  • Drafting switching plans with an emphasis on safety in accordance with NEN 3140 and NEN 3840.
  • Ensuring inspections, certifications, and legal compliance.
  • Managing technicians and monitoring quality, planning, and safety.
  • Providing knowledge transfer and instructions to colleagues.
