Energy Transition Design Leader
Energy Transition Design Manager responsible for integrated design and feasibility of cable and pipeline projects.
Leads route surveys, coordinates conditioning, and arranges permits and stakeholder coordination.
Requires a higher professional or university background and experience or affinity with underground infrastructure and the energy transition.
Description
You establish connections between technology, the environment, and execution, making the energy transition feasible from initial exploration to an integrated, permittable, and executable design. You work on projects such as grid reinforcement, energy transport, and future-proof underground infrastructure.
Job requirements
- Higher professional or university level working and thinking skills, for example in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental science, or spatial planning.
- Experience or clear affinity with underground infrastructure and energy transition projects; experience in realization (e.g. with a contractor) is relevant.
- Ability to think holistically and to oversee environmental and conditioning aspects in design and execution.
- Good communication skills towards clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, even when there are conflicting interests.
- Structured and result-oriented working method.
Tasks
- Responsible for the entire design process of cable and pipeline projects within the energy transition.
- Managing projects from route studies and detailed engineering to the integration of environmental aspects.
- Leading route surveys and engineering towards a feasible design.
- Coordinating conditioning: soil, ecology, archaeology, geotechnics and other environmental aspects.
- Organizing permits, procedures, and land matters, and coordinating with the competent authority and stakeholders.
- Managing specialists in terms of content and process, and connecting disciplines into a single design.
- Monitoring planning, quality, and risks, and unburdening clients with one integrated plan.
- Identifying opportunities to design smarter, faster, or more sustainably (e.g., smarter phasing, fewer interfaces, better feasibility).
Working conditions
- Healthy work-life balance with the option of hybrid working.
- Excellent secondary employment conditions, such as 27 days of vacation and a 13th month.
- Good pension plan.
- Travel expenses and work-from-home allowance; public transport fully reimbursed.
