The village hall is managed by a volunteer board and relies on volunteers. Volunteers support the preservation and operation of the village hall through a variety of tasks, ranging from bar work and maintenance to board activities.

Working conditions
Support through membership: you can support the village hall by becoming a member of the association. The membership fee is €5 per calendar year for a single person and €10 for a multi-person household. Payment can be made, for example, via bank transfer or by scanning a QR code. Participation in the VriendenLoterij also supports the village hall; at least 40% of the stake of a ticket can go to the village hall.
Description of the organization
The management is carried out by a volunteer board. Currently, the board consists of five people: Chairman Ietse Pestoor; finance officers Roger Veldman and Siete Rutgers; and general board members Sweis Ubels and Ellen Kappen. The village hall underwent a major renovation in 2021–2022 and was transformed into a center for the village.
During the renovation, the following features were realized, among others: a Living Room at the front for the village and meetings; a daycare/preschool facility next to the main hall; a dedicated space for youth; an improved and modernized main hall with a stage; and a new bar/kitchen situated between the Living Room and the main hall. Additionally, attention was paid to sustainability, with numerous solar panels and the planned installation of a heat pump. A new, matching front door was installed, and the interior was designed with colors and walls that complement the surroundings, including photo wallpaper of the old village.
The renovation was made possible in part by various funds and programs, including the Elk Dorp een Duurzaam Dak/Nam livability and sustainability program, the Province of Groningen, the Municipality of Westerkwartier, the Municipality of Winsum (now the Municipality of Het Hogeland), the National Program Groningen/Impulsloket, the Oranjefonds, the HS Kammingafonds, the VSB-fonds Mens & Maatschappij Loket Leefbaarheid. The main contractor was Bouwbedrijf De Boer from Groningen. Many tasks were also carried out by volunteers, such as painting, odd jobs, and cleaning.
