Description

Follow a three-month apprenticeship program at the Engineering Academy and progress to an independent role as an engineer.

You contribute to a safe and reliable energy grid and learn everything about low voltage, medium voltage, and public lighting.

The program combines theory and practice: on average two days of training per week at the training center and the remaining days on-the-job guidance by a senior engineer.

You will receive training in material usage, design frameworks, and systems and processes such as Flux, so that you will soon be able to independently create uniform working drawings.

Upon completion of the Academy, you will take on small projects independently, with a supervisor serving as a resource during the first year.

Job requirements

You learn quickly, ask questions, and enjoy truly grasping new material.

You are accurate and can collaborate well with supervisors, other engineers, and colleagues in the field.

You are not afraid to take responsibility and are not deterred by a steep learning curve.

Required: MBO-4 or HBO education in a technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, energy technology, mechanical engineering, or similar).

Affinity with the energy grid, infrastructure, or technology in outdoor spaces.

Some experience with technical drawings or systems is a plus, but not a strict requirement.

Tasks

  • Following the Engineering Academy training program (theory, practice, and e-learnings)
  • Working on simple engineering assignments and creating working drawings under supervision
  • Observe and work alongside a senior engineer on ongoing projects in your region
  • Take safety-oriented training courses and e-learnings and apply them in your daily work
  • After completing the Academy, independently take on small projects as an engineer, with a supervisor as a resource during the first year.

Working conditions

  • 28,7% flexible employment conditions (including holiday pay, 13th month, and personal budget)
  • Personal budget of 10% and a 13th month of 10,7%, flexibly spendable or usable for extra leave days.
  • 24,5 vacation days for full-time employment; possibility to purchase additional leave days up to a maximum of approximately 35,5 days.
  • Opportunity for hybrid working, with a fully equipped home office and home working allowance.
  • Contribution of 70% to the ABP Optional Pension (organization pays two-thirds of the premium)
  • Vitality budget of 22 per year, upgradeable to 2100 for studies or student loan repayment
  • Laptop or tablet and phone that may also be used privately
  • Mobility map for first-class travel and travel allowance; bicycle plan available
  • Room to grow through internal development platforms and external education and training.

Description of the organization

The organization has an informal and collegial atmosphere and offers plenty of room to learn, make mistakes, and ask questions.

You work together with (senior) engineers, work planners, and colleagues in execution, with safety as a priority.

Supervisors schedule regular times to discuss progress and evaluate work.

Diversity and inclusion are valued; different perspectives complement each other for a successful energy transition.
