Employed by a grid operator in the Northern Netherlands, involved from the planning phase.
Description
As an Environmental Manager, you are the connecting link between project teams, landowners, government authorities, and other stakeholders at a grid operator in the Northern Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, Overijssel). You are involved in projects for the installation, expansion, or replacement of cables, pipelines, and substations from the planning phase onwards, and contribute to the preparation and execution of these infrastructure projects. Within the organization, there is the opportunity for further development, for example towards land stewardship.
Job requirements
- Completed higher professional or university education, for example in urban planning, public administration, social geography, environmental management, or a similar field.
- Affinity with or some experience in environmental management, area development, infrastructure, or the energy transition
- Strong communication skills; skilled in building relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Organizationally sensitive; able to carefully weigh various interests
- Structured work approach and maintaining an overview within complex projects
- Knowledge of the physical environment and relevant legislation and regulations, such as the Environment and Planning Act
Tasks
- Building and maintaining relationships with landowners, residents, businesses, municipalities, provinces, and water boards
- Identifying interests, opportunities, and risks within the project environment
- Advising project teams on environmental issues and stakeholder management
- Organizing and facilitating participation and communication processes
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders regarding planning, execution, and decision-making
- Identifying bottlenecks and contributing to solutions that create support for projects
