Project Assistant for Tuning International Cooperation Projects.

The International Tuning Academy (ITA) is a unit within the International Strategy and Relations/University Services of the University of Groningen. ITA designs and implements international cooperation activities in which different higher education actors (higher education institutions, national quality assurance and accreditation agencies, ministries, university networks, etc.) from across the world work together to foster better quality higher education. ITA focuses on aspects such as internationalization, recognition, relevance, student-centeredness, more inclusive transition to higher education and professionalization of higher education teaching. ITA is currently looking for a Project Assistant to ensure successful implementation of running Erasmus+ international cooperation projects and to assist, where relevant, in preparing new competitive applications.

Job requirements

  • Well-organized and attentive to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Able to use or quickly learn tools and systems such as Google Drive and WordPress.
  • Capable of adjusting communication style to establish and maintain good working relationships with various international stakeholders.
  • Proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Flexible regarding weekly workload when required by the project implementation cycle, subject to prior agreement with the line manager and respect for monthly workload.
  • Possess a work permit for the Netherlands.
  • Plus points: previous project management experience and interest in higher education.

Tasks

  • Support the project coordinator in day-to-day project management.
  • Keep an overview of project processes and due dates, and remind partners and the coordinator about upcoming deadlines.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are received and stored as required in the project Virtual Shared Spaces (Google Drive).
  • Monitor and update project websites to reflect project progress (WordPress).
  • Maintain fluent communication with international partners.
  • Assist the coordinator in preparing ongoing, intermediate and final project reports.
  • Keep track of continuous reporting status on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
  • Collect and organize information necessary to prepare intermediate and final project reports and write assigned report sections.
  • During proposal preparation, assist with collecting and compiling documents and information, check consistency of the proposal and verify formal requirements.
  • Help organize project meetings by providing logistical and informational support to partners and the coordinator.

Working conditions

  • Initial contract for one year with a two-month trial period; possible extension by mutual agreement.
  • End-of-year bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8%.
