Senior Researcher Industrial Transformation within Entrance, focusing on technical and economic aspects of the energy transition and CO2 emission reduction in industry. You contribute to future-proof energy and process technology solutions for the region and work in interdisciplinary practice-oriented research that brings parties together for collaboration and innovation.

Job requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least ten years of demonstrable relevant research and field experience in the energy and industry sectors.
  • Insight into the scaling-up challenges of low-emission technologies from the laboratory via pilots to industrial implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience in mapping energy flows and judgment regarding the deployment of molecules versus electrons in industrial processes.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and making existing processes more sustainable, with a focus on affordability, delivery reliability, and greening.
  • Demonstrable experience with developing research lines, securing funding, managing researchers, and publishing research.
  • Good command of the Dutch language.
  • Critical thinking skills and reflection on one's own actions.

Tasks

  • Working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of lecturers, research coordinators, researchers, and students.
  • Developing a vision for research into new processes for the transformation of industry towards CO2 emission reduction.
  • Setting up and conducting one or more research lines related to Industrial Transformation.
  • Writing research proposals for external funding and building consortia with external researchers and market parties.
  • Contribute to ongoing and new research, lead research teams, and supervise students.
  • Conducting experiments, applying expertise in execution and analysis of results, and contributing to publications and implementations at companies.
  • Ensuring research quality in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to teaching in relevant bachelor's and/or master's programs.
